Marc Hoffman of RemObjects blogged over the weekend about the forthcoming iOS 7 and arm64 support in Oxygene. Actually, the only part that is really “coming” is the arm64 aspect since, as he explains in the blog post, Oxygene has always been able to use the iOS 7 SDK betas from the first day they started arriving in Apple Developer previews.
In that respect the iOS 7 SDK is no different than any other iOS SDK release or update. Oxygene developers do not have to wait for RemObjects to update their tools before they can start using the latest SDK’s from Apple (or Google, when it comes to Android).
The arm64 support is a different question and the insight into the issues and challenges facing RemObjects (none major) and the sharing of the expected time-frame in which they expect to meet them (a matter of days in some cases) is both illuminating and refreshing. 😉
More information on Oxygene can be found here.
RemObjects are still running a cross-grade pricing promotion of $599. Details of this are in the “Customers without Software Assurance…” section of this page. This is a $100 discount on the usual $599 price. Annual renewals are $499, but unlike with Embarcadero SA you are not required to pay this on top of your initial license, only on for renewals on the anniversary.
According to the details on that page, this pricing is available to any Delphi user.
OT: Please fix your Google Custom Search input field in your left sidebar which is overlapping your content in FireFox and the iPad.
Interesting. I could see the problem on iPad but not in Firefox on OS X. But I changed the width of the box and it’s fixed for iPad at least. Thanks for the heads-up. 🙂
Now It’s OK in Opera too. 🙂
Waiting for your new exercises in Android area.
